A friend of mine wrote on her Myspace "About Me" section, that most teenagers who belong to Generation Y, myself included, are a bunch of shufflers who wear "fluro" all the time and listen to techno. It drives her nuts!
I personally, don't wear fluro or listen to techno. When it was popular, many teenagers DID wear fluro and listen to techno in their iPods. The key word there was "did". I don't think they are popular, "hip" or "cool" anymore.
At my high school, the number of people wearing suspenders on casual day has gone down dramatically but the number of Country Road bags boys have has gone up. Coincidence?
Shuffling is sort of like High School Musical. They both are going to be popular for only a certain amount of time. For shuffling, it has been ditched for something else by most teenagers. High School Musical is still going strong but will move on and the next generation will like another phenomenon.
